CBT test Orpington

Taking your CBT test in Orpington is a great choice if you want to start commuting on two wheels in London but don’t fancy learning to ride on the busy roads of the capital. Orpington is still close enough to central London that it has great transport links, but far enough away that the roads are a little quieter.

RideTo has a number of CBT training centres in and around the Orpington area, and in areas slightly further afield, such as Crystal Palace and Thamesmead.

BLT Motorcycle Training are based in Orpington at Orpington Rovers Football Ground and the team are passionate about providing high quality training for all their customers. The roads around their facility are a mix of country and suburban roads - perfect for your first taste of life on two wheels. If you book with BLT through RideTo your place will be secured straight away - you won’t have to wait for your instructor ro confirm.

If you want to take your test a little further north, Phoenix Motorcycle Training in Sidcup are a great option. They were the first motorcycle training school in the UK to get gold standard approval from the MCIAC, which means you’ll get the very best instruction and customer service during your Compulsory Basic Training.

We also have training schools in Lewisham and Croydon.

Day Trips From London

Once you’ve completed your CBT and spent time commuting through London the next step is to take a day trip. Being located in Orpington or London you’re well placed to to travel to some great locations for the day, such as Brighton - although if you’re still riding a 50cc machine perhaps wait until you move up to a 125. It’s roughly 100 miles to Brighton and back, which will leave plenty of time to bask in the glorious sunshine once you’re there. You could take the direct route, along the A23, but we recommend heading out into the sticks and discovering some of the sleepy little villages between London and Brighton if you’ve got enough time.

If you’re not a fan of the seaside you could instead head for the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and take in the stunning rolling hills of the area. Like most rural places, there are myriad of little roads to discover if exploring is your thing. The High Weald AONB covers a huge area of land, from Crawley right the way down to the coastal town of Hastings, so you’re spoilt for choice if you choose to spend a day there. Here are some more ideas for motorcycle day trips from London.
