A CBT course is designed for beginner riders however if you are feeling nervous about the idea of learning in just a day, why not use our ‘Peace of Mind Policy’.If you don’t ‘pass’ on the first day of training and your instructor says you need some more time to master control of the bike, RideTo will pay for your second day of training. It only costs you £29.99 to add onto your booking and it might save you over £130!It’s worth noting that The Peace of Mind Policy doesn’t cover late or no attendance or turning up without the correct protective gear required. The terms and conditions list what the policy does and doesn’t cover.
There are 5 elements of a CBT, the course starts off with an eye test and general introduction. You will then start learning about all the various controls on a bike and what checks you should do before you get on a bike each time. These are all shown to you by the instructor and afterwards you will have the chance to practice what you’ve learnt out on the training pad on a motorcycle. In element 4 you are off the bike again to listen and learn about riding on the road. This is then followed by a 2 hour road ride where you will go around the roads of Orpington with your instructor following behind. They will tell you where to go through an earpiece and you will get to experience different types of roads to gain confidence of riding a scooter/motorbike.If you show you are safe when riding you will ‘pass’ and get your CBT certificate entitling you to ride upto a 125cc scooter or motorbike (age permitting - see more here) on UK roads.
