CBT Tests in Gloucester
Whilst we don’t have a CBT test centre in Gloucester itself, RideTo works with 3 CBT test schools within 30 miles of Gloucester city centre where you can learn how to ride a motorbike, scooter or moped in just one day!
All are roughly the same distance away from Gloucester in miles however, the location that is easiest to get to by public transport is Direct Rider Training.
Take a train from Gloucester Station to Swindon Station and from there you will just need to hop on a bus for a short journey (approx 10 minutes). Conveniently there is a bus stop right outside the Link Centre which is where the CBT school is located.
You will need your own kit to train in if you decide to book your CBT test at Direct Rider Training, this includes your own helmet.
Phoenix Motorcycle Training in Bristol would be another CBT school near Gloucester worth checking out.
It is actually the quickest to drive to if you plan on getting to your CBT that way. Like Direct Rider Training, Phoenix Bristol also requires you to bring all of your own gear including a helmet.
Our clothing guide explains what is and what isn’t acceptable to wear for your training based on rules set by the DVSA for your own safety and protection.
The third CBT test centre to consider is also run by Phoenix Motorcycle Training and is their site in Chippenham. At this location they will provide you with a helmet to wear on your training day should you not yet have your own.
What Is the Largest Bike I Can Ride With a CBT Licence?
The motorbike you can legally ride after passing your CBT test is based on your age. As long as you are 17 or over the law is the same - you can ride any bike up to an engine power of 125cc.
This can be a scooter, a moped or a motorbike of any style and includes electric bikes.
If you are 16 years old you will be restricted to a 50cc moped until you turn 17. You also won’t be able to ride over a speed of 28mph when on the roads.
How Much Does It Cost to Do a CBT Test in Gloucester?
Taking your CBT test around Gloucester will cost you somewhere between £135 and £160 depending on where you choose to learn to ride.
Different schools charge different prices due to the fact that their facilities, gear and location vary which is reflected in their training prices.
Wherever you decide to train, after just one day you will be able to legally ride a 125cc motorbike so we would say it’s worth every penny - the freedom of being able to get where you want when you want is the best feeling after passing your CBT!
