About Angel Motorcycle Training
Angel Motorcycle Training instructors are highly recommended, professional, and DVSA-approved. They are ready to pass on their knowledge to students who wish to learn to ride a scooter or motorbike safely. The instructors are qualified to issue Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) certificates, which allow you to legally ride in the UK.
The instructors at Angel Motorcycle Training are regularly assessed by the DVSA and operate to the highest standards. They can take any student from a complete novice to achieving a CBT certificate and, if desired, a full motorcycle licence. Whether you have never sat on a bike before, have ridden off-road for years and now wish to ride on the roads, or need a refresher course, there is training available for you.
Located in Gateshead just off the A1, the site is easily accessible by car or public transport, with several bus routes just a 5-minute walk away. Dunston train station is also around 25 minutes walk away. If you are driving though, there is on-site parking available.
If you do not currently have the kit to ride, Angel offers glove, jacket, and boot hire included in the cost of the course. Make sure to bring your own helmet, as well as appropriate clothing including jeans without rips and sturdy boots that cover your ankles.
While there are a number of cafes in the local area, you may not have time to use them, so we recommend that you bring a packed lunch as CBT courses take place over the course of a full day.

Amazing experience from start to finish, attended cbt and then moved on to complete mod 1 and mod 2 can’t thank the team enough, has a very family feeling always made to feel welcome. Would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to finally start living life on two wheels.

Angel motorcycle training is fantastic! I undertook my CBT with the instructor Paul. He was brilliant! I was a complete novice and had never been on a bike before. Paul took his time and encouraged me ever step of the way, making me believe in myself. The whole team were lovely. I passed my CBT today with Michael and Paul.
I could not recommend Angel enough. Both were super friendly yet professional. I’m a complete novice and was never at anytime made to feel like one, they were supportive and attentive and most importantly, really positive.
Back in August for some lessons with Lisa in preparation for moving onto MOD 1 & 2. Can’t wait!

Had an enjoyable, informative and productive day on a CBT course with Keith and the team at Angel Motorcycle Training this week. I couldn't fault the experience from booking the course to receiving my certificate at the end of the day. The facilities are good, the tuition was friendly and supportive but professional. Thanks especially to my instructor for the day, Julie, who was brilliant. On the yard in the morning and crucially on the road ride in the afternoon she knew exactly what I was doing on the bike and what was going on around me at all times even when I didn't and gave good, consistent corrections and encouragement where needed. I came away with a good, thorough orientation and a clear idea of what I need to focus on to stay safe and progress as a rider. I'll definitely be back when I have a chance for further road training and perhaps to see how I feel on a bigger bike! Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant! I’d never been on a bike before and don’t drive, so was a complete newbie. Michael and Julie taught the group session, absolutely mint - provided me with full gear and a bike. Had to come back for a few 1-2-1s with Michael, cannot recommend him enough - he made sure I was confident and safe before going on the road. Honestly the highlight of my year so far.
If you’re thinking about doing your CBT or DAS, go with Angel cos they’re honestly amazing. 10/10, will come back for my A1/A2 licenses 😉

First came across Keith while doing my CBT at a different riding school. When I decided to get my full bike licence I found out that Keith had set up Angel and had no doubts about going through them. Fantastic set of instructors, explain things really well, patience and very thorough. Lisa was brilliant from start to finish always helping to build my confidence as well. Highly recommended as I already have to some friends.

My first CBT, and it was a brilliant experience. Both Michael and and Julie were incredible. I got a bit lost when looking for it, and Keith was very helpful in getting me to the right place!
During the session, Michael and Julie were very clear in their instructions, and super helpful. I felt very at ease for the whole day. I was a bit nervous going on a scooter for the first time, but soon got the hang of it with their help.
Out on the road, Keith gave instructions on each of the items being tested in the headset, and was again, very clear.
I honestly couldn't fault a thing. It was a very pleasant day. I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone.

This was my third cbt. But more importantly, the first with angel motorcycle training team.
I must say Ian and Michael were absolutely fantastic.
Their knowledge was second to none and I felt very easy understanding all the legals of what was needed .
I would highly recommend this set of lads to anyone.

so was initially meant to train with another school down the road but was stood up 3 times until i found Angel motorcycle training online read all the reviews and decided to go with them. Spoke to Keith over the phone who accommodated my dates and made me feel comfortable about the whole process.
On The day of my CBT Met the other trainer's lisa ian michael and keith who are amazing and are super experienced in this field they surely know their work and enjoy every bit of it . They made us all feel comfortable and explained every little thing u need to know. they make sure you are safe and sound in the yard and during your training. if your a 1st time rider they will teach you step by step of riding how to ride a bike and make sure you have a smile on your face the whole time which takes the stress away.
The CBT was really fun and full of different manoeuvre and handling a motorbike which the team makes sure u perfect it before you hit the road. I am now doing my full DAS training with the most experienced and beautiful Lisa. I personally would recommend anyone whos looking to get their CBT or full DAS license to pick Angel motorcycle training , as the team combined have super years of experience and have all the knowledge and expertise to train anyone who wants to get on two wheels. looking forward to completing my full Das course with you guys Thank you Keith Lisa Ian and Michael you guys are doing a fabulous Job keep it up i am glad I chose you All the Best cheers.

Back on a bike after 20 plus years, The whole team were professional throughout and helped me and my step son through a very calm and relaxed day despite raining.
