Best Way to Travel Around Central London

Living in Paddington, Central London definitely has its perks but using public transport isn’t necessarily one of them.

Tubes and buses that are overcrowded, expensive and unreliable are often seen as the only way to get around the capital, especially when owning a car can be near impossible if not outrageously expensive!

This is where motorbikes come in - free parking, affordable and cheap to run, they also give you the freedom to travel at timings of your choice rather than being a slave to train and bus timetables.

Often bikes can get you to places more quickly too and you might be surprised to find out you only need to complete a one-day training course in order to legally ride a 50-125cc moped, scooter or motorbike (age permitting).

This basic motorcycle training is called a CBT and it is a compulsory requirement to legally ride on the roads in the UK.

RideTo partners with many training schools in and around London where you can take your CBT test.

Nearest CBT Test to Paddington?

Conveniently there is a RideTo partner CBT test centre only 2 miles from Paddington in Shepherds Bush.

Off The Kerb are based at the White City Territorial Army Centre and have superb facilities that you can easily get to by hopping on an underground train to White City Station or Wood Lane Station.

Can I fail a CBT Test In Paddington?

Although a CBT isn’t actually a test, it is possible that you can ‘fail’ in the sense that you might be asked to come back for a second day of training if you don’t manage to master how to ride confidently and safely during your first CBT.

Most people will ‘pass’ after just one day of training but because we all learn at different speeds and some are less confident when learning new skills, there is a chance you may not.

If your instructor thinks you are unsafe before you go on the road ride element of the CBT test or during/ after the road ride you unfortunately won’t be given a CBT certificate at the end of the day.

Don’t be upset if this happens, a second day should be all you need to gain more confidence and skills.

If you think you may take more than one day to learn to ride a motorbike the RideTo Peace of Mind Policy might be for you - for an additional £29.99, RideTo will pay for your second day of training which will save you around £130! Terms and conditions apply, learn more over on our Peace of Mind Guide.
