RideTo work with a partner school called Phoenix Motorcycle Training who run their CBT test ground from G Force Motorcycles in Gillingham.
This CBT test school would be a great option for anyone who lives in or around Maidstone. As an award-winning MCIA Gold standard motorcycle school with excellent facilities, Phoenix will provide you with top-notch teaching from friendly instructors who will get you trained up and confident about riding in no time!
Slightly further afield, another CBT test training location that RideTo partners with is Indie Motorcycle Training based in Tunbridge Wells.
Although located further from Maidstone, Indie will provide you with a helmet, gloves and jacket for your training day whereas Phoenix currently requires you to bring your own. Something to consider if you don’t yet want to make the investment and purchase motorcycle gear.
On the other hand, if you want to get kitted out in preparation for once you pass your CBT test, we sell a great range of motorcycle gear over on our RideTo Store.
Some of the items we sell on the Store can even be added to your CBT booking order with just a few additional clicks when you get to the checkout page, making it super easy to purchase everything you need to ride safely on the roads.
How Long Is A CBT Test?
If you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle quickly you will be pleased to know a CBT only takes one day to complete! Depending on the availability of CBT courses at our partner schools, this means you could be getting on the road within a matter of days!
Just remember once you have completed your CBT test you will need to make sure you have all the required documents to then be legal when riding on UK roads.
These include sorting out Insurance, making sure the bike's logbook (V5C) is updated with your own details (if you buy a second-hand bike), getting your bike taxed and making sure the MOT is valid if it's more than 3 years old.
Also, don’t forget in the UK it is a legal requirement to wear a helmet when riding a moped, scooter or motorbike and it must meet certain safety requirements. Find out more over on the official government website on their Helmet Guideline page.
What Motorbike Can I Ride After Completing a CBT Test?
After just one day of training, you may not be able to ride your dream bike just yet - unless your dream bike happens to be a 125cc as this is the maximum engine power allowed to be ridden with a CBT licence (this is presuming you are 17 or older).
There are plenty of cool 125cc motorbikes out there, check out Our Favourite 50cc-125cc Bikes Here. However, if your dream has a larger engine then you may want to consider completing a Full Licence Course.
