If you don't have your own motorcycle gear, Indie Motorcycle Training has you covered. They offer the use of helmets, gloves, and jackets if needed, and they have a fleet of Kawasaki Z650 and 125cc manual motorcycles, as well as automatic scooters for CBT and DAS training.
The school is easily accessible by train, with the nearest station being High Brooms, just a short 20-minute walk away. There is also ample street parking available nearby if you prefer to arrive by car.

Did my CBT with Sav and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! He was great to be around and helped me iron out all my imperfections whilst still making it an enjoyable experience. He was really knowledgable and had a brilliant attitude towards riding and teaching.
Indie Motorcycle Training as a whole is brilliant and I am planning on booking my full A license training with them once I have a few thousand miles of riding experience.

Highly recommended. The instruction provided by Sav and James allows you to gain knowledge and confidence quickly. They are not only hugely experienced but clearly a great team. Both classroom and on the road training was clear and informative with huge emphasis on safety. As a newbie it was very welcome instruction and will be a constant memory when swinging my leg over. People often joke about CBT being easy but these guys take it extremely seriously to get you going and to keep you safe. Many thanks and will happily be a return customer for next stage.

Did my CBT today, great instructor who gave great training and advice for riding. The only thing they couldn’t control was the rain for the on the road training!!! Would recommend as I have done my CBT twice with them now in 2 years. Good team.

Had an excellent CBT experience with our instructor Dave today. I found him to be knowledgeable, understanding, helpful and fun to work with. He pushed me to be the best I could on the bike but was also forgiving and helpful when I inevitably made mistakes. A perfect instructor for a beginner such as myself and a pleasure to work with. Did Mod2 training + exam with Indie Motorcycle Training. Overall impression - great guys. Very calm and laid back. We started with the issues I’ve had and made sure we eliminated them. It was my third attempt with Mod 2. First two times were with different school, so I can really see the difference in a way guys structure their training.
Very happy. Definitely recommend. I will definitely come back for extra training when time comes.

My son failed his CBT here, after being told that he was looking down too much. The instructor patiently explained to me that they have his safety in mind and they see this too much with 16-year old riders. So parents beware of this chicken-and-egg situation: young riders need more experience on the roads, but they are not allowed out onto the roads to get the experience! How are they supposed to learn? CBT is meant to be a training session...

I recently completed my CBT with Indie, and it was excellent.
James and David are both extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and effortlessly built a rapport between themselves and the trainees.
David's measured and thoughtful training style quickly put my nerves at ease, and I felt safe during my ride out with James, who gave helpful pointers and instruction throughout.

I did my CBT with James and Dave at Indie on Sunday.
The whole experience was awesome. Great to learn a new skill. I thought Dave and James covered everything at exactly the right pace with a great attitude towards safety and bike basics.
I bought my first bike yesterday, a lovely little Honda from Break-away in Tunbridge Wells. I plan to get as much practice in as possible between now and gaining my full license.
I’ll certainly be going back to Indie for my full license training and would thoroughly recommend anyone to use Indie.

Fantastic experience with James, I did my CBT in November and recently did my DAS with Indy it was such a good journey and always felt safe while riding with James and the team! Passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time the bikes we used are fantastic to new bikes.

I am amazed at the quality of instruction and professionalism of this training company. I had the pleasure of getting instructions from both S and James. Both were excellent. I had a particular issue that I was struggling with (which caused me to fail Mod2 - trained and took with a separate company) and without me telling them they quickly identified and gave me a brilliant solution. I wish I had gone to them from the beginning.
If you are undecided, just don't look elsewhere and book with them. I called numerous companies - some are operating like machines others are not professional enough. These guys are absolutely amazing, flexible and very reasonable. They were able to squeeze me in while others were giving me 6-8 weeks wait just for test.

This was the best decision I made going with Indie motorcycle training. I started of doing my cbt with them and then on to do my full test. Dave, Sav and James are very down to earth and a great bunch of guys you could ever hope to do your training with. Did my CBT then 6 months later did my Full License with Indie. Both Sav and James were extremely helpful and patient. always felt comfortable riding with them and they gave me constructive feedback which helped me to pass first time!
Also worth noting the instructors come with you to the test centres which most other training centres don't do, which i found really helpful. Was a dream riding brand new bikes which was great! Highly recommend to anyone considering doing the course. Get it booked!

If i could put 10 stars I would. Indie Motorcycle training have been an absolute pleasure to get me through to my unrestricted licence. James and Sav are two of the nicest blokes you could ever meet and they really did go above and beyond to get me over the line. I would recommend using Indie Motorcycle because I was very nervous about going out onto the road for my CBT, but the guys here were very understanding about that. Very down to earth people. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Decent price considering as this training will save your life when you're on the road.
I have no faults with the company what so ever. I shall return when I decide to go for A1.

As a returning biker after a few decades away, I found the whole thing superbly enjoyable. I have full licence, so we started puttering around the carpark. This was then followed by an afternoon of mixed 30,40, 60 and 70 roads in the beautiful area. It was fun, easy-going and I'd like to do it all again !

Great guys and great tuition - what more could you ask for!
I booked a 4 day training course for my A2 after riding a 125 on L plates. Sav and James are cracking guys and provide you with the perfect tuition. I was able to pass my Mod1 and Mod2 first time and I enjoyed every moment of the training. I will definitely be returning when I feel the time is right to upgrade my license.

I recently moved to the area and found these guys while looking around so thought I'd give them a poke to help me with my MOD2.
Quick reply to my request and against all the odds got me a lesson and a test within a week.

What a day, all i can say is if your doing your cbt no one better to do it with then indie. Wow James what a legend, calm cool and bloody good at teaching. Made everyone feel relaxed well nearly everyone. But alround bloody good job keep it up and ill be back in spring for the full licence. Just had my CBT done yesterday(29/08). It was so much fun, no hiccups. The trainers are absolutely great and knowledgeable. It was the first time I have ever sat on a motobike; however, by the end of the day I felt fully confident on it. Great experience, I am definitely returning to finish and get my full licence with these guys.
