CBT Tests in Bridgend

With a motorcycle training school offering CBT tests on your doorstep, if you live in Bridgend, learning to ride a motorbike could not be easier!

Bridgend Motorcycle Training Centre have a training ground at Waterton Industrial Estate situated in the Southeast of the Town and they have a large tarmac training pad suitable for learning to ride no matter what the weather!

They will provide you with a bike and a helmet for you to use/wear during your CBT test, although of course, you can bring your own helmet if you would prefer.

Should I Learn to Ride On an Automatic or Manual Bike?

The choice is really up to you and how confident you are about learning to ride. Mastering how to ride a manual bike can be a bit daunting for some, especially when there’s a lot of other things to learn in just one day.

Whether you learn on an automatic or manual bike, you won’t be restricted to riding only that same type of bike in the future. Once you have got your CBT certificate you are legally allowed to ride either an automatic scooter or manual motorbike, as long as the engine is no more powerful than 125cc.

Ultimately if you know you want to ride a manual motorbike once you’ve passed, it’s always best to learn on a bike similar to which you will be riding in the future to make sure you and others are safe when you’re on the roads. Read more from our blog here.

Why Learning to Ride a Motorbike in Bridgend Is a Good Idea

Right in the middle of Swansea and Cardiff, Bridgend is a great Town to live in, smaller than the cities but close enough to them to get to easily whilst also only being a 20-minute ride from stunning beaches such as Newton Beach in Porthcawl and Dunraven Bay, Southerndown.

You may live in Bridgend and commute into the Welsh Capital or Swansea. Riding a scooter or motorbike will get you to these destinations in around an hour and means that when you get there parking is easier and cheaper and you’ll have spent far less on fuel during your journey than if you had driven a car.

Riding a motorbike also means you also can avoid public transport - train delays, increased ticket prices and restrictive timetables will be a thing of the past!

Just remember you must avoid motorways if you have only completed a CBT test as you’re not legally allowed to ride on them until you pass a Full Licence Course.
