Amazing, quality training given and is accommodating to your level of experience. They are flexible with dates as they can be, but overall the staff and the bikes are quality. Can have a laugh with the staff but also know when to be a bit firmer if needed. Would highly recommend to anyone that’s looking to do any part of your bike license

Spoke to Mike initially about wanting to get my full licence. He talked me through doing my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. I was impressed with his openness and knowledge so signed up. He booked everything and I was given a structured schedule. All the training was excellent and I passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests first time!! I would definitely recommend Mike and his team at Practical Bikes - thank you very much!

Excellent experience with Practical bikes, from start to finish. I had a very limited time frame to get my Mod 1 & 2 complete and Mike was very accommodating and got me booked 5 days in a row. Very high standard of tuition, very patient and informative and great bikes to learn on. Overall brilliant experience, welcoming and relaxed environment. Well worth the 45 minute trip to Morecambe and back everyday, would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to ride a motorbike, at any level. Thanks again.

Had a back to the bike session with Mike (returning rider after 12 years away) to improve confidence on the bike. The whole structure of the session was excellent and all done at a pace to suit me. Mike gave excellent and constructive feedback and kept me at ease at all times. Mike is very knowledgeable and provides clear explanation of what is required and instilled confidence in how to deliver. The whole session was conducted in a friendly and courteous manner. I approached Practical Bikes having meant to do my bike license years ago. They told me in plain English how the process works (the DVLA website was pretty hopeless!) and in what felt like no time at all, I had passed. The instructors are very supportive and are able to deal with people of all levels of experience. Passed all modules first time too!

An absolutely brilliant place to learn to ride your bike. I travelled from Halifax to Morecambe to train with these guys and I am so glad I did. I started with my CBT on the 125s and then on to my full license! Toby, Mike and Dave have so much patience and experience which really help build by confidence on the 'big' bikes and pass my Mod1 and Mod2 first time!!! They even made sure I was able to use the same bike I trained on to do my test! When the advance lesson begin I'm booking in!!

Just passed my module 2 today and got my bike license. My journey was with Mike co owner and Dave my instructor. Anybody out there wanted to get a bike and explore use these guys. So supportive from start to finish and a lot of fun ( and nerves ) but they are with you all the way. I can now officially start my mid life crisis and cant wait. Absolutely fantastic team at Practical Bikes! Great service and they’ll always do whatever they can to help you advance and get you through your tests. Trust in their advice and you won’t go far wrong. I did my CBT in July (having never really ridden a bike) and had aspirations to go straight in for DAS training… however, it was recommended that I get a 125 and spend a bit of time learning the trade. Whilst I was a little gutted it was the best advice I could have got because it allowed me to build my confidence and skills very quickly and within 3 short months I’d passed both MOD 1 and MOD 2 with only 1 minor in each. If you want to learn to ride a motorbike then I’d 100% recommend these guys!!

The only motorcycle training company you need to speak too in the NW. 💯% Mike and the team are fantastic, I mean that right across the board, communication, tutoring, banter, safety and pretty much anything else you can think off! Toby deserves a special mention here, 1 of the DAS instructors who put up with myself and managed to push me through my DAS in only a couple of days including testing, also went out of his way to give me a lift to and from the hotel I was staying in. (Live in Barrow but stayed over for travel) which was greatly received! Most importantly, a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish which is what biking is all about! Truly Outstanding! I recently did my CBT with Practical Bikes, who we’re absolutely amazing. I’m not a very confident person and suffer with nervous, especially in a group - EEK!!! Ken was super patient; I don’t think he will have seen anyone more useless than me to begin with. After Lunch, Mike (who I can’t thank enough) spent some time with me and corrected the areas I needed help with, my confidence was a little better after this time. Mike then took me out on the road. I felt safe and reassured at all times, it helped that Mike kept supporting me through the ear piece. Mike was super patient, kind and well – just amazing. On completing my CBT with Practical Bikes, I feel confident enough to ride a 125 out and about myself as suggested, hopefully be back to complete direct assess soon. I went in today to do my CBT nervous because I never have riden before. They are all so welcoming and very amazing teachers and are awesome at what they do. They are very well educated with what needs to happen and what they are doing. The gentleman who was the instructor was very patient with me and considert about me with not having any lessons or riding experience before. I highly recommend to anyone who is wanting to ride for the first time and looking into doing lessons these guys are awesome.
