About City Bike Training

City Bike Training is run by Carrie, an experienced DVSA-approved instructor based at The Royal British Legion in Hardwicke, just south of Gloucester. Offering CBT courses for complete beginners and those looking to renew — with progression routes available for riders ready to work towards their full licence — Carrie brings a relaxed, supportive approach to training. The Hardwicke site provides a quiet, spacious setting away from city traffic, well-suited to the on-site elements of CBT before heading out on the road.

The closest public transport link is the Green Lane bus stop, served by Stagecoach West from Gloucester Transport Hub, which is approximately a 5 minute walk from the training site. If arriving by car, the site sits just off the A38 south of Gloucester with easy access from junction 12 of the M5, around 10–12 minutes from the city centre. Parking is available at the venue.

Excellent teaching from Chris. Went above and beyond with his insights and gave great examples and reasoning for each action. Taught to ride, not to pass a test. Look forward to doing my full license with him in the future if possible

Just passed my mod 2 and massive thanks to Mick. He's a great instructor so laid back and makes it impossible to feel nervous! It really feels like he gets invested in you passing and it's definetly about the enjoyment of riding and being the best you can. Can't recommend highly enough how great an instructor he is :) don't look anywhere else!

Joyriders what can i say? Top Class. The best training school around! I have not long completed my A2 with then Carrie and Tony who helped me through it were the best. They are so relaxing and patient. Quality is what they achieve. I will recommend this place to everyone I know who wants to learn to ride. Such a calm atmosphere and the owner Carrie is AMAZING. Thankyou again for getting me through my A2. Will be back in 2 years for A licence. Can't wait. Thanks Dani Jenkins

Just completed MOD1 and MOD2 with Joyriders. Passed both first time and that’s mainly down to the great tuition I received, as I have had next to none experience with bikes until now. Absolutely brilliant service all round. Great instructors, well maintained kit, and nice location to learn. Puts you at complete ease, which allows you to really enjoy the whole experience. They really care that you do well and will help any way they can. Will recommend to anybody. Cheers to The Joyriders team

Had great fun doing my CBT and Tony (aka the Smiler) was absolutely amazing. All of the instructor's love what they do and you can really tell. I had never ridden a bike before and they really helped me get my confidence and find my feet. If you are even debating then just book it here and you won't regret it!!! Thanks also to Carrie for arranging everything for me - I've now got my first bike :)
