These guys are amazing! I did the five day course and was so impressed by every instructor I had. They were all kind and encouraging and clearly very skilled riders. A special mention to holly behind the scenes, willing to help you out however she can. I was by no means a natural but managed to get all first time test passes. It’s a tough course but with the great instructors, good bikes and all the kit you could need it’s all achievable. Even with a few laughs along the way! If you’re looking for a riding school I can not recommend this one enough. You won’t be disappointed.

After a break from biking following an unpleasant experience with another training provider it was refreshing to speak with Shires who offered good advice and communication from the start. Leo, my instructor was excellent & we had a great 140 (ish) mile ride with plenty of good advice and reassurance offered throughout the day. Thank you Leo, you made a big difference to my confidence & I appreciate the excellent advice & way it was explained. I am now looking to get a bigger bike & will then look to Shires for further training to develop my skills. I thoroughly enjoyed my back to biking day with Shires & highly recommended them.

I have had a dream of passing my DAS full bike license for many years. At the delicate age of 64, my question to myself was "Can I still do it?" Would my brain and body manage it? I put myself in the hands of Shires Motorcycle Training and one step at a time at my own pace, the answer to these questions was a definite YES. A cracking team of very skilled, understanding and patient instructors. Highly recommended. Now let's see what bikes are available 😁 Update... Very enjoyable days training with Chris at the Nottingham training site in West Bridgford. First class equipment and no stress area to complete the manoeuvres before going out for the ride in the afternoon. No matter what your level of experience, I would recommend Shires training so that you can enjoy your time on the roads. I have since completed both the Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests and have my full licence. Many thanks to Ash for the guidance and support and all of the instructors at Shires.

I just love it 😀 Great experience and results. Starter with CBT and went straight to full license. All instructors are just amazing full of love for motorbikes 🏍 ❤️ if you ready to book everything in one go they just do it for you and you can have your license with you in less then a month. So if you still think about it, just do it !!!!

Shires is really an amazing place to gain your motorbike licence. I have passed both my MOD 1 and MOD 2 with them first time. I cannot fault the equipment and level of training I received while there. I want to say a special thanks to all the instructors who have helped me especially Collin who really is a great instructor and has really helped me develop my skills to be able to pass. I really cannot recommend Shires enough and would encourage anyone wanting to take their test to enquire here!

Nothing but praise for Shires I came to Shires completely new to motorcycling. I had a taster session and then followed that with the CBT 1-day session. After this I did a couple of geared lessons on the Kawasaki Z125, I then went onto to do the Mod1 and Mod2 on the Yamaha MT-07. Throughout the training the team were well organised, professional, and supportive; the bikes were immaculately turned out. I was able to pace my training to my needs and Shires accommodated requests for ‘practice’ sessions, which were extremely helpful. Importantly Paul, Ash, Colin, Shaun, Roger, and Holly in the office were a great source of know-how and sound advice. Thanks!

Cannot fault Shires! Had module 2 training with John and Colin both of whom were very reassuring and went the extra mile to ensure that I was well prepared for the test. Both trainers made the learning and riding fun which significantly improved my confidence. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shires of Nottingham if you are looking to get on two wheels. If you're not sure about taking up motorcycling, then just one days training with these guys and you are likely to be hooked on bikes for life . Had a geared bike lesson on Sunday 31st October, Ash made me feel very relaxed and his instructions were clear and precise. On the ride out he was in constant contact over radio. Going back for more lessons then on to mod 1 and mod 2, definitely will stay with them.

Great service, can't thank Paul enough. When I called he tried his best to find me a training slot. Initially they could only provide training the week before my test. When I called them. Again to make payment Paul went over and beyond and offered himself to train me in Grantham for my test as 1-2-1 tuition and freed himself to be able to take my to my mod 2 which I passed thanks to shires! Great company and great service, no rush just good customer service 👍

Having gone from CBT through to Mod 2, I would definitely recommend Shires. The friendly team offer excellent tuition and the bikes are new and perfect to learn on. Ash & Colin took me through my training and I couldn’t rate them higher! They are both excellent instructors. I used Shires all the way through from my CBT to MOD 2. In my experience they are a brilliant to learn with. Unfortunately my training was postponed due to lockdown, Paul and Jo did a great job getting us booked back in swifty after restrictions were lifted. Special mention to both Colin and Ash for getting me through MOD 1 and MOD 2 first time without any faults. Both very knowledgeable and friendly making the experience very relaxed. I came to Shires to get my Mod 1 and Mod 2 passed. I’ve had training with Colin and Ash (both excellent), Colin was so patient and understanding with me on my first session. I was a bit nervous to start but felt much more confident after our 3hr session. This has been followed up with more training with Ash and I’m now feeling confident going into my Mod 1 test. Can’t thank you guys enough, would fully recommend using Shires, amazing instructors, new bikes to use, just awesome all round. Can not fault at all, best school in Nottingham for sure.

Big thanks to Colin for the patience and expert training he gave to me. I came from another instructor and I hadn’t ridden in a year after passing my mod 1. I was lacking confidence in my riding. Colin had patience with me and lead me to gain more and more confidence. In just a couple of sessions I was massively more confident in my riding and then I took and passed my Mod 2 today and passed 1st time! Colin is a friendly and helpful instructor and the other instructors are too. Highly recommended Colin and Shires! All the best and thanks again Colin and the bossman.

In short I cant recommend shires highly enough. All the instructors I met had both a genuine passion for teaching and motorbikes. The bikes themselves are kept well maintained and with low mileage. The price is a little high but actually has probably saved me a lot in lessons as the style of teaching clicked with me and I passed both my mod one and two which I have struggled with previously. They are thier for you after you pass as well. Always happy to offer advice or a cup of tea. Not only do I have my pass but I have met really lovely genuine and funny people along the way. Sad I don't need lessons anymore.
