Can I take my CBT test in Lincoln?
In short - yes! Lincoln offers two CBT test training schools located in Sleaford & Dinnington. All CBT tests have a maximum student number of four riders, so spaces can fill up quite quickly. If you are someone who thinks they’d benefit from a touch more attention on the day, then Dinnington offers a 1-2-1 session. This will mean you will have the full attention of your tutor at all times and allows for a more personal and focused CBT test experience.
How long does a CBT test in Lincoln take?
You should expect to be taking your CBT test in Lincoln for anywhere from 5 to 8 hours. The CBT follows a strictly regulated order of 5 elements that will be taught in the same order across all CBT certifications. This order is regulated by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency).
Element A will have you sit in an indoor classroom going through the aims and objectives of your course, followed by Element B which will be an introduction to learning the controls of your motorcycle or scooter. Element C is the longest portion of the day where you will start your practical on site training! Element D has you back to the classroom to study road safety. Finally, you have Element E, the most exciting portion of the day! You will venture out of the CBT test centre and onto the public roads to put into practice everything you have learnt. You will be followed by your instructor who will watch how you ride and offer guidance where you may need it. You will practise your manoeuvring and iron out anything your CBT instructor feels you can improve on.
A CBT test is a long day involving the need for plenty of concentration, so make sure you go into the day with a good breakfast, hydrated and a positive attitude. This is the start of an amazing new skill!
