Where Can I Take a CBT Test Near Cradley Heath?
If you live in Cradley Heath you’re in the very lucky position of having 2 CBT test centres within a short drive or train ride away.
Blacktop has a CBT test site based at the Goals Soccer Centre in Rowley Regis for those wanting to train on a weekday. Just hop on a train at Cradley Heath and travel the 5-minute journey to Rowley Regis Station, Blacktop’s training ground is then just a 5-minute walk away.
They also have a second CBT test centre at the Old Hill Tennis Club which has training courses available 7 days a week. This is also just a short train ride and walk away from Cradley Heath station.
Can I ride an Automatic or manual motorbike with a CBT licence?
The choice is yours, you can learn on either an automatic or manual scooter or motorbike for your CBT test. Then, once you’ve passed, you can legally ride whichever you want - you aren’t restricted to just the type of bike you learnt on.
Learning on an automatic is slightly easier, as you don’t have to get to grips with gear changing, however, if you plan on riding a manual bike it would be worth learning how to safely use gears to make sure you’re safe when riding on the roads.
Another option would be to train on an automatic and then afterwards, if you decide to ride a manual bike, you could take an additional course called a ‘Gear Conversion’ where you will be taught how to ride a manual bike.
A Gear Conversion course is just 2 hours long and we would highly recommend it to make you a safer rider.
How Much Does a CBT Test Cost in Cradley Heath?
A CBT test is a day of motorcycle training that takes roughly 6-8 hours to complete. The total cost of this course will be £140 if you train at Blacktop, which are the most convenient locations to get to from Cradley Heath.
If you are willing to travel further afield you may find CBT tests for as little as £125 at Solo Motorcycle Training in Wednesbury or £130 in their Handsworth site. Both of these sites are about 6.5 miles from Cradley Heath.
