About Focus Rider Training
A family run motorcycle training school, Focus Rider Training is a professional team of passionate instructors based in Bury, Greater Manchester. With a brand new fleet of modern motorcycles for training, a Large off road training area and both male and female instructors for CBT Training, DAS Full motorcycle licence training and A2 licence training. Focus Rider Trainings instructors are all fully qualified, meaning you are in safe hands with advanced instructors guiding you all the way. The school has a thoroughly modern motorcycle and scooter fleet, including a Honda MSX125 Grom for shorter manual CBT students, all the way up to the Kawasaki 750 for DAS Students with a top speed of over 140 miles per hour! The ever popular Yamaha YBR 125 is the Manual CBT bike of choice for Focus Rider training, and all gear and helmets are included as standard with any motorcycle training course. The offroad training area is fully enclosed, allowing you a safe area to practise your slow control skills. Training is available 7 days a week, with CBT available daily at 08:30 with training usually finishing after 3pm depending on your experience.

Super great experience on my DAS course. Jeff and Laura are very helpful and kind people, would absolutely recommend this place even if its a bit further away from me than other motoring schools. They have a wide selection of bikes so you’ll be guaranteed to ride one of your choosing.

I was originally going to use RJH, but after giving Focus a call I decided to book with them as they seemed much more flexible and accommodating.
Their practice area at Gigg Lane is huge compared to other places and this really helped me develop slow speed manoeuvre skills. What I really liked is they weren’t obsessed with time limits, and they let me continue practicing my slow speed skills after the session formally ended.
I also had plenty of riding time preparing for the MOD2, with the commute from Bury to Blackburn & Darwen improving my riding experience on country lanes. They took us around all the test routes and pointed out what to watch for on the test.
I highly recommend Frank; he’s a no-nonsense, quality instructor who not only gets you through your tests, he really focusses on teaching you how to ride safely.
So glad I went with Focus over RJH. They’re a genuine family company with friendly and helpful staff who built a package that fitted in with my skill level and availability. To top it off, they were also much better value!

After over 30 yrs since I was last on a bike, bit the bullet and did my CBT today. Absolutely brilliant and very patient staff, was anxious at first but soon settled in and went for our 2 hr ride and loved it. Thanks to everyone at Focus. Will be booking mid 1 and 2 plus extra lessons for DAS once had more experience on the road. Again superb….

I didn’t know what I was looking for but gave Focus Rider a ring and spoke to Laura.
She guided me through the process and recommended a CBT and intro conversion day and gave me lots of information I was lacking.
It took me a year to book but when I finally did I did a CBT and Direct Access course within 2.5 days and passed both exams first time, they assured me I was ready!
Great experience with Focus Rider and I would highly recommend!

Completed both my cbt and mod 2 with Focus over the years. Jeff and Laura are fantastic. Recently passed my mod 2 with them despite there being a little bump with timing everything was resolved immediately.

Did my CBT 2 years ago with Stacey at Focus and did it again last week. Cannot recommend this place enough. Stacey makes you feel so comfortable and at ease her instructions are super clear and her knowledge is amazing. Really friendly staff and a really fun experience. I completed my CBT first time after a miserable experience at another local training centre. I highly recommend this place especially if you're a bit nervous, as they totally put you at ease and don't rush ahead. You might even get a couple of coffees thrown in!

Back To Biking Course Friday 18-12-20
After a 10 years of not riding a motorcycle Focus rider training Bury have given me the best training and experience that I could have wished for, they have a friendly approach and Kevin was so professional he put me at ease and gave me good advice I can't praise Focus enough. Here is my most honest review on my recent experience at Focus rider training; I felt I was thoroughly trained and I was overly educated on everything I needed to do in order to be safe on the road and to pass my test. Mod 1 was taught by Sue and mod 2 by Kev, and both parties ensured I was fully trained while having great attitudes making me feel comfortable and focused. I believe many training companies often under estimate your capabilities to gain a few extra lessons (£’s) BUT the team at Focus, are so incredibly far from that. I am happy that my money was well spent and I do not regret choosing this riding school as I’m sure I couldn’t find better. If you want certainty and guarantee of being in the best hands, then I recommend focus rider training via myself. Extremely welcoming, 10/10 for everything

The day was great! I honestly cant express in words how good Lawrence at Focus Rider Training was! Not only was he knowledgeable, approachable and friendly but he was able to put all of this together to teach in a way that suited both myself (a new rider) and a more experienced rider who was re-sitting their CBT.
Through thorough theory, training and practice he ensure we had the right attitude and level of confidence before hitting the road; meaning I was able to really enjoy the on the road riding!
The whole team we're very welcoming and friendly and am I sure it won't be too long until I'm back for my full licence!

Having never driven a bike before and reaching 60 i decided to go for the taster/assessment session to see if i liked the experience. I did. Laura was patient and encouraging and i immediately booked in for my CBT a week later. The combination of Laura, Geoff, and Stacey looking after me all day made it a fun day. I got my CBT, bought a bike a couple of days later and now go to work on it. Next will be the full course and hopefully pass the test. Did my CBT here a year ago next month. I’m 34 and have been riding 125’s since 17 years old. Due to the mandatory 2 year revalidation, I’ve had to complete it many times and I’ve done this at many different training centres and this one is the best of them all.
They were extremely polite and friendly a go way beyond the extra mile for you. Even picking me up from the bus station and taking me there so I didn’t have to pay taxi. They also made me a brew. My instructor was Chris Hayward, a very pleasant and likeable chap.

I’ve rode scooters for about 20 years, I attended this school and due to a small mix up on my behalf I used a motorbike. The instructors took time to reassure me if it didn’t work out they would facilitate me another way. The instructors were very methodical, logical and patient. Their teaching style gave me confidence to ride a motorbike and I completed the day without any problems. My confidence was low but boy Susan and Chris know how to get the best out of their pupils. Strongly recommend this place. I am actually now looking at doing my full test that’s how much confidence they gave me coupled with a very safe riding style.
