Cheddar Gorge

Nestled in the Somerset countryside, just South of Bristol, Cheddar Gorge is an absolute must for any biker. It's a stunning snaking route carved through the cliffs between Oakhill and Chedder, roughly 14miles.

Our Marketing Executive, Jake, visited Cheddar Gorge on his Indian FTR 1200 whilst on his way over to Wales earlier this year, here's what he had to say:

"Cheddar has been on my list for a long while now, so when planning a summer trip over to Wales I thought it was only right to ride through on my way. Setting off from Brighton it took me around 3hrs 30mins to get to Cheddar but it was definitely worth the ride.

You're enveloped by beautiful cliffs on either side of a wonderfully winding road. There are plenty of places to pull up and have a mooch about and take in the stunning scenery. Top tip: watch out for the goats that not only like to scale the cliffs but also lurk around blind corners so just take it steady in case you happen to meet them in the middle of the road.

Secondly, I'd advise heading over a little earlier in the day to avoid traffic. I visited around 1pm on a Wednesday and there were an awful lot of tourists which for me, spoilt it a little. So head over earlier just to make the most of it."

No matter what level of biker you are, Cheddar Gorge just has to be added to your Biker Bucketlist.
