Jake T · July 07, 2021

With so much choice on the market choosing which motorcycle jacket is right for you can sometimes be tricky. To help you narrow it down, the RideTo team have put together our Top Ten Motorcycle Jackets under £200.

If you need a little more guidance on materials, safety rating and styles of jacket then check out our beginners guide here.

Starting off with a fantastic value for money option. The Pilot Textile Jacket is the perfect jacket for beginner bikers and seasoned riders alike. The Pilot offers CE protection and a high level of comfort at an accessible price point, making it perfect for newly qualified riders. The Pilot features CE Level 1 armour in the shoulder and elbow, a fixed SinAqua lining and a quilted thermal gilet to provide warmth in colder conditions.

The Axis textile jacket is a CE Level AA certified textile jacket ergonomically cut to suit a range of riding positions The Axis features a removable thermal lining for riding in all temperatures, CE Level 1 elbow & shoulder armour with a pocket for a back protector but you’ll have to purchase that separately. Similar to the Pilot Air, the Axis has a 360° connection zip seamlessly zips to any compatible RST trouser.

We love the arm and waist adjustment points and vented panels which direct airflow around the jacket keeping you cool in warmer weather and offering a comfortable contoured fit.

The RST Axis is a really great all-round motorcycle jacket, offering protection and functionality at an everyday price point.

Whilst falling under the bracket of Riding Shirt, we just had to include the RST X Kevlar® District Wax CE Shirt. This casual textile motorcycling shirt has an understated style that looks good and protects on and off the bike.

Made from a HD Wax fabric, the shirt features a DuPont™ Kevlar® Fibre lining and is supported by a contrast tartan inner and fixed mesh lining for extra breathability.CE Certified to Level A, the shirt has CE Level 1 shoulder and elbow armour with a pocket for the back protector. Added features include a central front zip with a popper fastening overlay for added safety. This zip-popper ensemble also features on the cuffs and the front pockets as an extra security measure.

Added to this are the side seam air vents for maximum airflow and magnetic collar fastening to stop the collar from billowing in the wind, trust us when we say, riding anywhere without a fixed collar is just an awful experience.

This motorcycling shirt oozes urban cool and has the safety and protection to match its attitude.

The jacket is slightly longer but short enough to give you the mobility you require to get on and off your bike. The Staffy is a versatile jacket for all-weather as it has a fixed breathable waterproof lining for those rainy days and a detachable thermal liner for the colder days. The staffy comes standard with Formate Pro CE armour giving you the protection required.

Another great choice if you’re looking for a good all-rounder.

The Richa Scrambler 2 is an old-school style waxed cotton jacket, with an aggressive look that would fit perfectly on any modern/classic motorcycle.

The jacket is constructed from British Millerain waxed cotton fabric that is fantastically reliable thanks to over 100-years of experience creating waxed cotton fabrics. The Scrambler 2 jacket is also fantastically breathable, reducing the stuffy feeling you can get when temperatures start getting higher. The waxed cotton is also water-resistant meaning it will see you through some drizzles while you ride, without needing specific rain gear. We all know it’s not always sunshine and warm, and so do Richa, so the Scrambler 2 comes with a quilted cotton liner for a little extra warmth.

The Oxford Continental is a highly versatile 3-layer jacket designed to be worn in all four seasons. Comprising of a ventilated outer shell with a detachable waterproof liner and removable thermal liner, meaning it can be used in hot, cold and wet weather conditions.

The CE A-rated outer shell is made from abrasion-resistant Polyester, with a reinforced structure and hidden stitching for a robust yet lightweight feel. Large DirectVent panels offer direct to body air ventilation. Accordion stretch panels at the elbow ensure the garment feels fitted, while easily adjustable collar settings combine the customisation of a hook and loop with the durability of a snap fastener.

A really great choice for road trips or commuters who are covering a lot of miles throughout the year.

Ideal for those looking for protection with the stylings of a modern jacket. The Shoreditch is CE certified and features a CE level 1 shoulder and elbow armour as standard. The CRC fabric makes for a comfortable and lightweight outer construction that is reinforced with a MaxTex textile material, making for a durable and hard-wearing jacket that minimises the risk of blowouts and tears.

The SinAqua Pro waterproof, breathable membrane aims to minimise water entry into the jacket, keeping the clothing beneath dry even if you find yourself caught out in the worst of the weather. This membrane is also breathable, allowing water vapour (sweat) to escape, keeping your base layers fresh and dry.

The Shoreditch textile jacket is perfect for the urban commuter who is looking for protection on the bike and a casual jacket for everyday use.

For female riders who want to be protected and comfortable, this great jacket is made from milled Cowhide leather and features a fixed comfort mesh lining for added ventilation.

The Ripley jacket comes equipped with CE Level 1 Hexa shoulder and elbow armour with a pocket for a back protector. Additionally, the jacket sports several adjustment options offering extra comfort when riding.

Coming in just shy of the £200 mark, we think this is a great value for money for a leather jacket which would suit those looking for a retro classic style.

The Maverick is a true four-season jacket, with an interchangeable dual lining to enable you to be comfortable whatever the weather throws at you.

Made from a hard-wearing MaxTex ballistic outer construction, this textile ladies motorcycle jacket is CE Certified to Level A, with CE certified level 1 back protector, shoulder and elbow armour, offering impact resistance in the event of an incident. An additional safety feature is the reflex reflective print which offers enhanced visibility in poor weather conditions.

The maverick enables you to change up the lining of the jacket making it incredibly versatile when riding. Jacket with no liners, jacket + thermal liner, jacket with waterproof liner or jacket with both thermal and waterproof linings, so you can take on any weather condition on your ride.

Stretch panels, arm and waist adjusters all support a more comfortable contoured fit.

The Maverick textile jacket is a great piece of kit offering touring riders the ability to go anywhere come rain or shine.
