The team at RoadRider School of Motorcycling truly believe that learning to ride should be exciting and fun so you can really experience the freedom of two wheels. The instructors at this site are able to offer Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) for novice riders at the beginning of their journey to Full unrestricted motorcycle licence courses for those looking to go the whole way.
The training site is easy to find as it is based at Aldwinians Rugby Union Football Club so its pretty hard to miss. The site is well connected to public transport with Fairfield Staton is a 20 minute walk from door to door. The training pad iteself is spacious making this an ideal environment for new and experienced riders to train on, There is also an indoor classroom for theory classes which always comes in handy in the colder months of the year.
The instructor is able to offer an extensive selection of Manual motorcycles and scooters to train on. The instructors offer a tailored training programme to your abilities, meaning that no two lessons are the same. Whether you are looking to learn to ride a 50cc scooter, or 125cc motorbike, taking your First CBT training, or looking to complete a DAS full motorcycle course, RoadRider will have you covered.

Booked my CBT in on 26/07/24, it had been 20yrs roughly since I last rode a bike so nerves where an issue.
Thankfully the lads help ease these with their light hearted but serious teaching style making the day fun and enjoyable.
What really stood out for me was the instructors had an eagerness to get everyone through the course showing patience and understanding while doing so.
They care about getting new bikers into the community and as such go the extra distance to get you through the day.
20yrs ago this was not the case at other rider schools and they would send you on your way early and you would have to pay to take it again.
With limited time this isn't always possible and for those who are worried about this they offer a piece of mind option I believe for an extra £40 or so, meaning should you not make it through the day you can rebook without having to pay again.
Thankfully I passed on the day as I wasn't aware of the £40 piece of mind option.
I'll be looking at selling some music gear and booking my Direct Access with Road Rider sooner rather than later and I can't recommend them enough.

Excellent CBT center. The staff are really nice , helpful and the instructor was just brilliant. Plenty of space to practice off road to get you ready for the road! It was a great experience and passed first time!

my name is MO i went to roadryders as new, without any bike experience, MATT was great helping me with the CBT, a true professional very easy to be around. now lets talk about the main man BAZZ another professional once you meet him you will feel like you known each other long time, the whole team is fantastic.
i still have to finish my course but i will never swap this group of guys & ladies for any other motoring school. i love being around them.

Baz and the team came highly recommended by various lorry drivers I work with that had all used there services with great results in the past, I travelled two hours a day for each of the training days I found the training provided was highly tailed to give the trainees the tools and knowledge needed to pass Mod 1 and Mod 2 which I passed both on my first time the bikes they use are state of the art and easy to ride so if your looking for a training school Road Rider is your go to for all your biking needs young or old.

Well I just passed my CBT. Tony, Bazz and Harriet were really good. They had a good laugh (which really lightened the mood) the whole day was great... I think I've lost a stone worth of sweat in my helmet and t-shirt as its been hot!! Highly recommend these guys for any training you need!!

Did my CBT and my DAS here within the span of 2 months and they've been amazing throughout. Very reasonably priced and everyone there is so nice and a great laugh, was worried it would be stressful doing my training and tests but it was so much fun, would highly recommend!

The instructors are very supportive and ensure that the course is delivered in a relaxed manner. They take time to explain things and address any questions appropriately. As it was very hot, they offered drinks throughout the day. Overall, it was a fun environment.
Would definitely recommend others to book here!

I arrived for my CPT yesterday as a bundle of nerves 😬 and left calm and confident that I could continue my journey as a new learner driver.
The training ground used is excellent with lots of space to practice manoeuvres without worrying about getting too close to other trainees.
The road training gave me a good grounding in the basics including how to deal with sharing the highway with other road users.
Huge Thank You to Tony the Instructor! All instructions on and off the bike was delivered in a clear, confident, and friendly way putting me straight to ease and letting me know I was in good hands.

Done my second cbt with road rider and what can I say....really good instructor's...made you feel comfortable even though your there to do a test ..
Good laugh and made to feel at ease...never felt under pressure to feel you must pass ....gave the correct advice when needed to make you improve where needed ...would highly reccomend to everyone....not just for a cbt ...even iflooking at doing das or a1 etc licenses

RoadRider was awesome for my CBT course. I'm 25, always wanted to ride a motorcycle and as I drove never found the excuse to do it. Just last week I thought sod it and booked in with RoadRider after reading through their website and reviews - they're also one of the most reasonably priced motorcycle schools around Manchester
Immediately after arriving, I was met by Tony & Tony. They were great, were up for a laugh yet serious about what they wanted to teach us. I was super nervous, riding a motorcycle is scary and these guys made it so much easier to get on and learn.
I have no riding experience, these guys had me riding on the road on a Manual 125cc bike by the end of the day with lots of confidence. I was super happy when I was told I had passed.
Overall I highly recommend RoadRider, I will be returning to do my DAS with them in several months time and can't wait. With the level of training RoadRider provide I don't doubt I'll pass first time.
Thank you guys for being so patient, informative and fun. You hold a lot of respect for riding and a testament to the biking community!

I Past first time (das A license) with these guys and they made it seem so simple. I've been to a few other schools now and I didn't really get on with any of the instructors and failed tests. Came here and had a great time, staff are great by putting in the effort, being very knowledgeable and been great to chill with. Actual riders actually wanting people to pass!

Had an excellent experience completing my CBT with Baz and Tony. Covered everything in depth, lots of good quality banter, lots of reassurance and coaching and just a brilliant day overall. Ample time spent both at low speed / car park manoeuvre aswell as a minimum 2 hours spent on the road. Would highly recommend RoadRider for motorbike training and sure I’ll be back soon for a full license. Be ready to learn loads and have a good laugh at the same time!

After doing my cbt training at another school and being very disappointed with the trainer, I came to Roadrider for my Mod training. Bazz and Tony were both great, and they made the training an absolute blast, learned so much from both of them and passed both my tests 1st time. I would definitely recommend anyone after motorbike training that they give roadrider a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Started back in July with the cbt and with a few delays due to the current climate managed to pass mod1 & mod2 and end the year with a full bike license. Baz is a great teacher and a top guy. If you listen to what he says you will pass and have a few laughs on the way. Would fully recommend doing your training here.

Great place to learn how to ride a bike but also a great place to be. Baz and the team have been fantastic from the first phone call all the way through to me passing my full license. I started with a cbt with was a fun day of learning and getting the basics. Never felt like there was pressure and when you did something wrong you were told clearly and concisely how to correct it. I loved it so much I came back and did my direct access full license, even with coronavirus steps in place I never felt the teaching diminished. Honest could not recommend this place enough, if you want to learn to ride correctly and have a smile in your face then this is the place.

I love these guys to bits.
Don't think that because you're female, you can't ride! It's not a male orienteered skill, and it doesn't matter how old you are, either. If it's your 1st time out, don't worry, they'll look after you, Barry has a fantastic sense of humour, coupled with a professionalism which is 2nd to none.
If you are thinking of learning how to ride, this is the place to teach you, whether you want to learn on a geared or automatic. I would highly recommend these guys, it's a pity I can only give 5 stars.

Took my CBT test here, Really cannot recommend these instructors highly enough.
Instructor helped me spot an correct a bad habit of riding with finger hovering over front brake, I didn't notice i even did it till it was pointed out to me. Training to even such detail as that is why i had to write this review.
