Route 66 are a CBT Training School in Central Scotland. They have excellent facilities and a purpose built training centre within all things automotive with the Largest onsite training pad in Scotland, designed to give students a safe and practical area to learn. The beautiful local roads are perfect for new riders looking to hone their skills with being in Chapelhall Airdrie and close to the beautiful country roads around the Clyde Valley, M8 and M74. They have both male and female patient and passionate instructors and their training includes programs for people who have an autistic spectrum disorder and people with dyslexia. There is an nearby workshop, Bike Sales and Cafe in Motherwell f(where DAS training takes place) for bike maintenance and customer servicing and there is a little shop in both Chapelhall and Motherwell that stocks a small amount of gloves, helmets, snoods etc. They offer Free parking and you can order your lunch to be delivered from the near by café. Their Fleet of motorcycles are a variation of bikes as they believe that not every rider is the same so the motorcycle needs to suit the student. They have lowered bikes for students that feel more comfortable on a lower motorcycle. They are also an official Lexmoto dealer and work in partnership with Edinburgh Harley-Davidson. Although Route 66 is in central Scotland, they organise full training for people from all over the country, armed forces on leave and people working off shore. It is also possible to book a residential course with Route 66 for full DAS training.
Requirements
After you have booked you will get an email with your Pre CBT reading materials. Please go through this Student Pack Carefully and print off if possible. If you do not get this email please check your junk mail or spam.
On the day of training you must be able to:

Have the correct licence card: either UK driving, provisional or EU licence with UK counterpart licence number
</li>

Have your National Insurance number
</li>
<li>
Be able to read a registration plate from 20 meters
</li>
<li>
Speak and understand English and the Highway code to a good level
</li>
<li>
Be able to ride an adult sized bicycle
</li>
<li>
Wear suitable clothing including sturdy jeans & jacket, motorcycle gloves and boots that cover your ankle but not steel toe caps. Because of the COVID19 Pandemic Route66 are unable to provide helmets at the time so you would need to bring your own LEGAL helmet. All helmets worn on UK roads must meet one of the following:
British Standard BS 6658:1985 and carry the BSI Kitemark
UNECE Regulation 22.05
a European Economic Area member standard offering at least the same safety and protection as BS 6658:1985, and carry a mark equivalent to the BSI Kitemark . You must have a legal visor or legal goggles.
please also note that the DVSA stand by the manufacturers recommendation that a helmet shelf life is 6 years
Inappropriate clothing will result in not being able to take the course and loss of fees paid. Rebooking will cost £180
You must be able to speak and understand English
Helmets at Route66 range from £35 - £150 if you don't already have a legal helmet. The CBT door closes at 8:45. If you are late or have come with the wrong clothing and equipment you will be sent away.
Please note that you will have to pay £180 again to do your CBT.
If you don't manage to complete all 5 Elements within the specific time and you need to come back, you need to pay £180
