Dubbed the most ‘inappropriate’ motorcycle race in the country, Malle Mile has one of the biggest followings in the UK. Making a comeback this year at the grounds of Kevington Hall in London, it will feature a full on festival with live music, exhibitions, retail opportunities and now the ever famous Mile after party. Wheels and Waves
This festival is Europe’s largest custom bike event. Set in the sunny town of Biarritz, France - this one is perfect for that summer ride down the Basque coast. Expect everything from costume sprint races, DIY rides into the Pyrenees and scenes of a thousand motorcyclists braving the Southern French mountains. If that all gets a little too rider-esq there’s still the large indoor cinema screening the best movies and skate ramps (you’ll probably see Steve Caballero in action too) as well as plenty of waves to surf on later. Foundry in the fields.
Taking after its name, this festival organised by Foundry Motorcycles is held in the fields of West Sussex. If you’d like to race your own custom or classic, this is the festival for you. There are knockout rounds for different types of bikes as well mixed relay races for a little bit of competitive fun. If you’re looking to just spectate and take in the views, the overnight parties are followed with a meaty breakfast BBQ in the morning. Otherwise the Bedouins tents with live music and a fully stocked bar from the local brewery does sound like a bargain for your money. Combining a mix dirt racers, grease monkeys, custom bike designers and speed freaks - you’re sure to get your fair share of adrenaline at this one day event. Taking place at the brand new Arena Essex, race ANY bike that can pass an MOT without the expensive setup costs of becoming a fully fledged motocross racer. Last year riders raced on everything from Harleys to Vespas and even sports bikes.There’s even prizes for the winners and it’s covered by ITV, so a chance at your 15 minutes of fame and glory. Distinguished Gentlemans Ride
Ride for a worthy cause at this year’s Gentlemans Ride in London. Bring your best facial foliage and finest tweed as you ride to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. The focus this year includes shedding light on men’s mental health and prostate cancer with official partner - The Movember Foundation. Taking place in over 500 cities globally, all you need is a classic custom bike and a dapper attitude to go along with it. Think silk vests, tailored suits, cafe racers and bobbers if you plan to ride as distinguished gentleman. The ride is free however you are encouraged to make a donation and set up a personal fundraising page to help the foundation reach its goals.
