Having a basic understanding of The Highway Code is essential to passing your compulsory basic training (CBT). If your instructor believes you do not have a basic understanding, he may regard you as unsafe. You will then not be allowed to complete the on-road module on the CBT training course. All 5 elements of the compulsory basic training (CBT) must be completed in order to gain your CBT certificate. If you do not complete these 5 elements you will fail your CBT training and will have to re-book in.
